"City Topics"

In June 2000, NetEase
held serial large-scale road shows known as "City Topics"
in Shanghai's main commercial areas including Huaihai Road,
Xujiahui and Nanjing Road. NetEase
promoted its online services including its search engine,
NetEase community, "Odigo"
and online auctions. It also encouraged audiences to use these
services on-site. The road shows were successful in showcasing
the ease and benefits of using the Internet and NetEase's
role as a major player in China's developing industry.

Approximately 10,000 people participated
in the activity and more than 100,000 people watched the on-site
road show. Dozens of Shanghai media agencies covered the event
giving NetEase additional
exposure.
