NetEase Web Site to be Available by Satellite Link
NetEase Co-operates with ChinaCast for Web Site Access (www.163.com) via Satellite Link

NetEase.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTES), a leading Internet technology company based in China, announced today that the NetEase Web sites (www.163.com), www.NetEase.com and other web sites operated by an affiliate of NetEase) will now be broadcast via satellite link throughout China. The NetEase Web sites are the first Internet portal available by satellite link in China, and users will be able to visit the sites using cutting-edge broadband Internet technology. The NetEase Web sites will be broadcast by ChinaCast, which will soon be launching its Turbo163 satellite broadband Internet services.
Broadband technology can fundamentally boost the development of the Internet, and has been receiving extensive international attention as the next wave of technical development. ChinaCast's Turbo163 services are based on Hughes DirecPC technology, and will broadcast the NetEase Web Sites through 54 megahertz satellite bandwidth and simultaneously update the sites' contents to Internet users at a speed of 1 megabyte per second. ChinaCast's services will allow Chinese Turbo163 users to view www.163.com at the speed of 400 kilobytes per second without connecting to Internet.
