| China's famous journalists and renowned
emigrant Chinese jointly founded China News Service on
Sept. 14, 1952 in Beijing. Today, it is one of the two
sole news agencies in Mainland China. China News Service
focuses on emigrant Chinese, overseas Chinese and the
Chinese people residing in Hong Kong and Macao. It has
set up 32 domestic bureaus in provinces, autonomous regions,
municipalities and Hong Kong SAR, and now employs 500
staff. According to UNESCO's report, in 1982, China News
Service ranked Grade B out of five grades among 174 news
agencies worldwide. |
