Jack Xu joined NetEase
as Co-Chief Technology Officer in May 2000. As one of
the most accomplished scientists and industry experts in the
field of search engine technology, Xu oversees the company R&D
and products development. |

Prior to joining NetEase,
Xu served as Senior Manager and Senior Scientist for the Core
Technology Group at the well-known international search engine
Excite@Home. In Xu's 4 years at Excite@Home in Silicon Valley,
he helped grow the company from 80 to 2,800 employees and become
a leading Internet search engine and the #1 broadband service
provider in the world. Xu was responsible for the overall research
and development for Excite's search technology. |

Xu holds a Master of Science degree in Information
Science with Zhongshan University in China. Ph.D. candidate
in Computerized Information Retrieval with the University of
California at Berkeley. |
